Photography oportunities

Fri Oct 9, 2009, 10:12 PM
I need more of them.
For the first few months after starting up photography I could get some great ideas and great shots just around my room. Now I've totally expended this two meter radius area around me and it's time to venture further.

Gah, effort. ._.

I've been to a few of the heathlands around here recently, but they're not all that pretty to be honest. Some of the little tiny flowers are quite pretty, but there's only so many shots of flowers you can do before it just gets old. Wide angle shots are very tricky there as there's almost always some houses or a road in the shot. Only really good shots I've managed to get are those insanely orange sunrise/set ones, and as awesome as they are, I don't really want to upload a huge stream of them.
So, that leaves me looking for more variety. Variety means new places. New places means travel. Travel means effort. Curse you, laziness.

I do have a couple things coming up, though. On Monday I've got a school trip to Marwell Zoo for psychology. Studying psychology of animals? I don't even know exactly what we're doing there, something to do with observational study methods as far as I know. But I did find out that all the work can apparently be done in under an hour, giving me loads of time to just rampage around with the camera. Animals make great subjects, I even end up talking to them like you would a model. Should be great fun.

Also, we should be getting our new car soon. FINALLY! Not sure if I blogged about it; on the way to Heathrow for going to Greece, some twat came up behind us at 120mph and rammed our side. The bastard woke me up! :x But he then rolled in front of a truck and got rammed, so fair enough, I guess. No one was seriously hurt, but we had a dent which rubbed against the wheel, so we had to wait at the side of the road for *four hours* for the AA to get a pickup to us. But we got some of those silver blanket things, so oh well. They're rather awesome. :3 Anyway, our car was valued at near enough nothing - somewhat above the cost of repairs - so it was written off. Yes, it was a shit car. You could've pulled the dent out with a crowbar and it would've worked fine. >.< Anyway, that was... sometime between Easter and summer, and we've been carless since. So, back to the point. My brother wants to go to Bovington tank museum, so we're apparently going there when we get the car. I've honestly no idea what sort of shots I'll be able to get there. I'll probably have to try and get masterful angles seeing as lighting will probably be terrible inside. Not really sure what the museum is like, haven't been for... uh, longer than my memory lasts.

In other news, anglerfish are awesome.
